We were eating our grandmothers 40-50 years ago, what do you expect? Cheesy

When we have finally grabbed enough money to our heart's content, we may finally slow down and consider manners and good faith.  Itjust has been a very long crude accumulation of capital process...

And unlike lucky Canada and Australia, we have little resources to sell to provide a comprehensive social security system or look after the citizens...

Anyway, there is always hope Kiss
Yes, those two young countries just can't compete with that 5,000 year old culture of thievery, backstabbing and corruption.

Ooooh wait ... Australia was England's penal colony. My mistake.

It's a shame.  You two would have a great life if you just put your differences and expectations aside.

Shan could have her own baby and stay at home to strategize and help her father.  She would be in charge of foods and utilities.

Smokie would work and pay rent.

Think about it guys!

I have my OWN business and yes, i just sit at my home and click my mouse and earn 10000RMb for my MBA studies , and the same amount to invest in my father's restaurant as original stocks and the same amount in the stock market . you can do the maths and they are all earned by myself while i can babysit my lovely niece that the same time .

2000RMB on cosmetics is  not a big money for a person who can earn more than 20000RMb a month , it's a dust if i earn 200000RMB in the future

I am currently studying on my second master degree in HR , my father needn't another restaurant manager NOW , he really needs a person who can help him make the strategic plans and control the HR and do the translations for the overseas contacts and i need to prepare for that task

You're welcome.

If I hadn't kept on at you, you'd still be sitting in Suzhou University spending gold dust worth of your income on cosmetics with no hope of a plan.

So ... close to 40 and 3 or is it 4 degree's and you are FINALLY thinking of going into the family business. It will be interesting to see how a Chinese degree in HR will work in foreign countries.

You DO know that foreigners will not stand outside the restaurant on a morning doing exercises, singing the company song and reciting the company motto?

Half will just quit and the other half will tell you to go fuck yourself as they sign up to the union.

I suggest that you talk to lawyers in each of the countries involved before hiring people even with your Chinese HR Degree. Find out just what sort of crap in China is illegal in other countries.

Sorry ... I have too much experience in the real world of hard graft and shan has been a student most of her life under daddy's protective wing.

I couldn't survive with a person who has never paid rent or understands what it is like to worry about money.

Honestly Smokie, if you strick me for anything it will be the fact that you NEVER EVER worry about money.  So there is a bit of insincerity when you sound so hard nosed and practical.

The way I see it, you and Shan are the same - spendthrifts

Well just so as you know ... I HAD close to 30k in the bank before I left my last job but ended up having to spend it on rent and living expenses until I got back into the BJ scene. And THAT job only paid 10K per month.

My current employer is one of those who pays after I give my notice for like the third time however THAT contract just finished and I may not get paid at all for the last month. It's a government owned employment agency. (So you see my problem with all the high praise you give them)

The other job I am working has promised to pay me on my last day. They have the contract with UBC so things are fairly certain I will get paid with them (I did the same job last year and they asked me back and they were completely honest.)

You've lost me.

You did also see me say that I had to refurnish an apartment up here too didn't you?

The previous year I managed to save 20K and went for my first honest vacation in YEARS to India Bhutan and Thailand.

Seems you are also forgetting visa costs which the locals don't have to pay. Remember ... when we met in HK???

How about my laptop packing it in so I had to buy a new one so I could teach. (The previous one lasted 7 years)

Any of this getting through to you?

Cauldrons???

Anyway I am just shattered by a potentially good union going to complete waste, leaving two heart broken individual living lonely lives.

It may not strike you as anything when you are relatively young, but when you are old and nobody to be bothered with you...

You may never find anyone you love this much ever again.  Think about it, try to find a way

It would be a shame if you and Shan ended up as road fill  Grin

Where have Shan's posts in this thread gone? This looks like a very one-sided conversation.

Honestly I can't leave you kids alone for more than a few minutes than you're at each other's throats  UUUzi Nine Milimeter

I suppose she has deleted them all.
It would appear so.

I didn't do it.

My promise stands ... I don't delete.
