From his fierce criticism to the government/ruling party of almost all the countries in the world ,Smokie seems to be the best presidential candidate for his country , let's vote for him , he will make his administrator above board, clean and fair and serve the people wholeheartedly., he will make his people extremely happy and well off.

he definately has the insights to lead a country to the road of a success and common prosperity .
 Cheesy

Personally, I couldn't stand the bullshit.

Presidents are never the right people for the job.

And even when they are ... they can't get things done because of the government that surrounds them.

Try reading 'Screw it. Let's do it' by Richard Branson.

You'll find out a few things in there including who those people were who waited in Hong Kong for visas while the Chinese Government diddled while waiting to get things done.

I have never viewed the plight of others as simply 'what others are going through'.

I put myself in their position and fight for them.

how many nightmares do you have to go through every night then ? Grin

And how many tears did you shed for the Yellow skinned people in China???

And how many did you shed for those in Myanmar?

Your compassion, like Polly's, seems to end at the border of China while many westerners have compassion for people the world over.

For the sake of a line on a map, you think them unworthy to live.

Polly would go further to say that it is the people's fault that they can't beat the guns sold to their government by the Chinese with their Bamboo and Fishing Nets.

My nightmare is realizing that it is people like yourselves who will inherit the power in this world and you have no more compassion for people of other races than you have for dogs.

You can cry for the people in Sichuan but god help you if you are from across the border.

Pardon the rest of us for not being good little Chinese Koutouing to 'Grandpa Wen'.

Oh , give me a break!

To study the ultimate motivations behind it will give you second thought on the foreign reliefs .

by the way ,the Myanmar government didn't decline the foreign reliefs as the reports said.

They received 30 million RMB  from China ,0.25 million USD from USA

The fact that we don't have plenty time to post like you doesn't mean that we don't have compassion for the Burmese, and if the same disasters happened in China , why shouldn't we focus on our country fellows first ?

As for your compassion, sorry , I have a big question mark in my mind , from your brutal attitude to other forumers , I seriously doubt that you are a compassionate creature by nature.

You can't even please a small group of people , let alone the world people?

So , in short, it sounds like a kind of lip service to me .

I expect another "fuck off " in your next post . Grin

Really???

Then what was that boat from the USA that ended up going away?

There were three boats off the coast all stocked with aid.

All the aid was in the form of actual tangibles such as water, water processing machinery, food, medical supplies and also included engineers and medical personnel ... the things needed by the people on the delta, in other words.

What the Burmese government wants is for cash to be donated to the relief effort like the Chinese. It is so much easier when they get cash so they don't have to sell the relief supplies in the market before they get their money.

This DID happen by the way.

You two are stupid enough to believe that the Burmese are going to buy relief 'products' from some imaginary local supplier with the cash they get.

How much do you want to bet that the Chinese government gets their money back in the form of another arms purchase.

After all, if you go back through the press announcements issued by the Burmese government, they decided they needed US$11 billion in relief aid.

Next thing they said was that the aid as offered by the foreigners was not enough even though they offered goods instead of money. Three relief ships packed with it.

Then they announced that their people didn't need aid and could survive on a diet of frogs.

And so it is that the Burmese government went from a request of 11 billion in aid to saying their people could survive on frogs.

And you two are believing that the money the government collected from China is going to supply relief to the people who need it.

Can't you tell when you are being lied to?

Oh, sorry ... you're Chinese and all critical thinking is therefore superfluous.

Oh, and as far as 'my generation' and the west ...

We got tired of listening to governments jerking themselves off to get rich LONG ago.

We don't wait for Grandpa Wen to wind us up and point us in a direction to save the country he should have saved with government action.

We basically said fuck all governments and were led by one of Art's countrymen ... Bob Geldof.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Band_Aid_(band)

Then there was:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USA_for_Africa

The Canadians with:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Lights_%28band%29

We were brought up with contempt for governments ... even our own ... and circumvented even the UN to deliver aid to other countries when and where it was needed.

So stop spanking your monkey and coming up with every excuse to worship your own navels and ignore the rest of the world.

By all means ... join the rest of the civilized world at a place where your new financing allows you to be.

Grow a social conscience.
